Our beloved Heath Ledger died in the afternoon of January 22, 2008. The coroner's report determined he died from an accidental overdose of a combination of numerous prescription & OTC drugs in his system: Drugs like an unnamed antibiotic for his pneumonia (he caught this in London during filming "The Imaginarium of Dr, Parnassus"), & Benadryl. He also had numerous opioid-type drugs as well, including oxycodone, hydrocodone, others as well. According to the report, he did not overdose on any 1 particular drug, it was the combination of all of them that put him into his final sleep. Therefore the ruling of ACCIDENTAL rather than SUICIDE. A suicide attempt would have deliberately taken more drugs than Heath did to ensure a death result...Heath's pneumonia was also likely a contributing factor as it compromised his lungs thus his involuntary breathing while unconscious. Also, emergency response to finding him unconscious (the masseuse & maid) was very badly handled -- if they had called 911 immediately instead of calling Mary Kate Olsen several times first -- just MAYBE he could have been revived. BUT WE WILL NEVER KNOW THAT. All we have left are "what if's?" & "how could this happen?" I hope in the next pages I can help to clarify that for y'all...& set all those nasty rumors to rest forever.
But first, I do want to state here, once & for all, HEATH LEDGER WAS NOT A "DRUG ADDICT.'' He did not do lines of cocaine or any other addictive drug on a daily basis. I have researched extensively through a lot of material in his bios & news articles on the Internet...no one says he was a drug addict. He was a recreational user ONLY, & a social drinker, though at times he was called a "party person" because he would go to bars at night & stay till closing (likely because of his insomina). But even this was not all the time. Thus I wish to put to rest all rumors about Heath's so-called "addictions" -- he didn't have them.
