Heath Andrew Ledger was born to Kim and Sally Ledger (born Ramshaw) on April 4, 1979, at 0630 at Perth, Australia. He had an older sister named Katherine -- the 2 of them were named for the main characters of the famous Gothic romance novel Wuthering Heights, which his mother loved. His family was heavily into philanthropy, his great-grandfather Sir Frank Ledger having established a foundation for charity in his day, and Heath's father was in charge of running it at the time of Heath's birth. 

Heath is no longer with us, but his memories are: in his films, his daughter Matilda Rose Ledger, his family in Australia, and his philanthropic work. A charitable foundation has been set up in his name in Australia by his family; and I also think he would admire St. Jude Children's Hospital in TN, USA for their research in kids' cancer, and also Shriners' Hospitals for Children, which is a chain of charity hospitals specializing in rehabilitation of disabled kids, giving them a chance to live independently to the best of their abilities.
